Shipping electronics
Electronics can go by air, but anything with a lithium battery has to follow airline safety rules, and higher-value items should be insured.
Battery rules
- Batteries should be installed in the device, not packed loose
- Devices must be switched fully off, not on standby
- Power banks and loose spare batteries generally cannot go by courier
- Damaged or swollen batteries are refused
Packing
Use the original box if you have it, inside a stronger outer carton with at least 5 cm of padding on every side. Screens need extra protection against pressure.
Value and insurance
Declare the real value. Electronics are among the most commonly checked items at customs. We recommend insurance on anything worth more than you would be comfortable losing.
