Shipping clothing
Clothing is the most common thing we ship. It travels well, but customs in every country want clear descriptions, and heavy embroidered pieces can be expensive if they are packed loosely.
Describe garments properly
For each item write the type, gender, fabric and value: “2 women's unstitched lawn suits, cotton, PKR 4,500 each”. The USA and Canada in particular ask for fabric content.
Packing bridal and formal wear
- Fold along seams and place tissue between embellished layers
- Vacuum-seal everyday clothes to cut volumetric weight; do not vacuum-seal heavily embellished outfits
- Use a sturdy box for bridal pieces so they are not crushed
- Remove hangers and loose accessories
Duty on clothing
Clothing usually attracts duty when it is sold or above the gift limit. Duty rates for garments are often higher than for other goods in the US and Canada. Our duties-paid option settles this upfront.
