Insurance coverage
Every parcel has basic carrier liability, which is limited. Optional insurance covers the declared value of the goods against loss or damage in transit.
How it works
- You declare the value of the contents when booking
- The premium is a small percentage of that value, shown on your quote
- If the parcel is lost or arrives damaged, you claim with photos and the invoice
- We handle the claim with the carrier or insurer for you
What is usually not covered
- Fragile items that were not packed to our guidance
- Delays, since insurance covers loss or damage, not lateness
- Items seized by customs because they were prohibited or under-declared
- Cash, jewellery and precious metals, which we do not ship
Tips for a smooth claim
Photograph the contents and the packed box before handover. Keep receipts for higher-value items. Ask the receiver to photograph any damage before unpacking further, and to report it within 48 hours of delivery.
